His City
She arrived in his City, after a decade, The City where she had first met him.
The City had lost its charm. She was cautious to avoid His City for business or for pleasure. The City held the beautiful and private moments of their life together. She passed by his office premises. He had risen up in corporate ladder. He was now “THE CEO”.
She thought of visiting the office building with an intent to see him. She knew it was highly impossible that he would be at his workplace, now at this time of late night. Slowly, she got off her car, just to have a glimpse of him.
The thought made her eyes shine and her lips smile. Practicality took its place. She knew it was futile. She decided otherwise and the chauffer proceeded towards her hotel.
The light lit the office first floor. He walked towards the French window- For Air. For Smoke. To Breathe. She had been so close yet she choose to walk away. He let her go. Persuasion was never his forte. The wind lingered with her aura, her presence was still felt.
He sighed.
She still wore the fragrance gifted by him since the day he had said “I Love You.”
