“Mastering others is strength. Mastering yourself is true power- Lao Tzu!”

Coding down few things to sharpen & engage grey cells, increase brain power, enhances memory and refresh our mind, let’s continue with our #PowerOf23# series:-
1. Simplify Your Life: Minimalism all the way. Simplify, declutter and organize your living and workspace. Engage in to do list to prioritise important tasks, delegate secondary matters and delete unwanted activities from your life. By creatively planning your life, it allows you to simplify. Delegating and eliminating activities that don’t motivate or excite you ensures you maximise your time and focus your energy on prioritising and achieving your goals.
2.Laughter Therapy: Laughter stimulates brain and allows people to think in a broader manner. Laughter acts as a natural stress reducer as stress is something that inhibits and limits brainpower. Smile enhances your face value and is mood booster. So, Smile Please!
3.Hydrate: Water enhances the brain’s electrochemical activity & dehydration slows it. Your brain won't perform well if you are dehydrated, keep sipping water throughout the day to protect brain cells from damage & to perform it at a high-functioning level.
4.Practice Being Ambidextrous: To boost your brain, it’s time to change routine. If you drive to work, once in a while use public transport or take the stairs instead of elevator. Brush your teeth, comb your hair, learn to write, type, use mouse and eat with your less dominant hand. So if you are right-handed then engage your left hand for next two hours for all activities to push your brain to grow.
5.Recognising Your Mind Alertness: Every individual has a different cycle of performance & creativity. Use your peak energy time for completing complex mental work. Follow your own rhythms for accomplishments depending on whether you are a morning person or night owl.
6. Develop Critical Thinking Mindset: Learn to convincingly debate each side of an argument. This will sharpen your horizon as well as provide a broader perspective to look at the issue on hand.
7. Novelty: Engaging in new activities stimulates the brain to grow. Motivate your brain to take an unfamiliar route home or learn a new language or to play a musical instrument or read a book about a new topic and experience the brain grow!
8. Sharpening the Senses: It’s sonvital to challenge brain by involving new senses in routine activities like keeping eyes close and to place more emphasis on taste and touch for eg : by eating an orange, placing feet in ice cold water with eyes shut.
9.Doodling: Doodling during a stressful day eases the day and improvises memory.
10. Create a new habit: It takes 30-45 days of consistent repetition for a thought or an action to become a habit. Engage in creating a new habit which enlightens your mind, challenges your brain OR makes you more fit like Reading a book on complex subject, engaging in creative activities for positivity of the mind For eg: For me it is #PowerOf23# series OR adopting exercise as a morning or evening chore.
11. Learn to break set record: The art to engage your mind in an activity beyond the permitted standards of excellence so far established is a challenge in itself. For Eg: Engaging in Speed Reading/ Speed Typing enables you to read/type up to 300/100 words per minute.
12. Create Lists: Be creative and Create “Top 100 lists” and keep this list handy to revisit them once in while. The list could be on variety of topics like Things to be grateful for, Things to learn from, Places to visit, Things to remember, Things to collect, Things to care for, Bucket Lists, etc.
13. Trust your Memory: Entrust your brain to work without any assistance from anyone. Stop running to Google Bhaiya for every issue and question you do encounter. Solve math problems without a calculator. Memorise atleast ten numbers you connect/ call to frequently. Along with a strong memory this will result in being agile and adopting quick thinking.
14. Eat well: Eat powerful food as well as a balanced diet to give your brain the energy, the right nutrients and not just fillers from junk food.
15. Mix up your routine: The mind loves routine. Well Routine is good, just don’t do it forever for years on end. You don’t grow by doing the same things every day. You grow by innovation, challenges and stepping out of your comfort zone.
16. Play Mind challenging games: Engaging in mind challenging games like Chess, Puzzles, Crosswords, Sudoku, which improves your memory, prevents your brain from aging, makes you smarter, sharper, challenges your mind to think in new ways & enhances key thinking abilities.
17. Be Curious: Be Childlike. Question the set patterns and think about everything and everybody with curiosity. Some of the greatest philosophers were skeptics. Ask the question “why?” – especially if something sounds too good to be true.
18. Seek out the random: Select a random word, and explore it on the Internet. Find different meanings, explore how it is used and then incorporate it as a part of your vocabulary. Voila! This way you enlarge your vocabulary.
19. Be as descriptive as you can:Describe and pen down an experience in as much detail as you can remember. What you felt? Did it bring joy or sorrow? Take 2-3 days to do this, each time probing more deeper for more information. Read this experience after a month. I am sure it will take you back in time oblige you to smile or mandate you to revise the lesson learned.
20. Stop multitasking: Do one thing at a time, exceptionally well. Doing a single thing at a moment doesn’t just increase your brainpower in learning, but makes your output a lot more productive and effective!
21. Surround yourself with intelligent, positive people: “You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with. — Jim Rohn” Spending time with intelligent and positive people will broaden your thinking perspective and your enable you to adopt a solution based approach in adverse times.
22. Problem-solve from a different perspective: How would different people approach a problem: the rich, poor, crazy, geniuses, achievers and slackers? Exploring problems from different perspective gives you over all solution to a problem and you are able to arrive at a solution which is practical, possible, economical and has out of the box approach.
23. Keep a journal: Jotting down thought gives space for new thoughts. As soon as you are clicked with a new idea, new thought, new quote write it down. Summarize something you just now read. This results in penning down your thoughts which shall be constructive, as understood in that moment and with the mindset and could be memorised later on to comprehend, recalled in future to be used constructively in your writings, dialects and communication.
